Valdai Discussion Club
TRENDS Research and Advisory and the Valdai Discussion Club have signed an agreement for cooperation in research activities addressing Eurasian Security. The Eurasian region – stretching from Europe to China, is essential for the GCC and this project will study security and stability in the region, examining topics such as, security policies, national political stability, regional dimensions and integration and cooperation, economic opportunities for trade and investment.
The Valdai Discussion Club was established in 2004. The Club aims to promote dialogue among international intellectual elites and to deliver independent objective scholarly analysis of political, economic, and social developments in Russia and the world. The work of the Valdai Discussion Club is highly regarded both in Russia and abroad. The Club’s main objective is to promote dialogue within the global intellectual elite in order to find solutions to overcome crisises facging the globe. The Club actively collaborates with opinion makers across various fields, including international relations, global politics, economics, security, energy, sociology, and communications. The Club’s meetings have been attended by many leading politicians, experts, public figures and cultural figures from Russia and other countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with the participants of the Valdai Club’s annual meetings every year since its founding.
