“Jihadist Insurgent Movements” Special Issue of Small Wars & Insurgencies Volume 27 No. 5 (2016)

About the Book

This special issue is a product of a conference held in 2015 organised by TRENDS and ICSR, King’s College, London.  The influence and impact of jihadist insurgency movements is being felt around the world and responses have been lacking in many respects. The London conference brought together experts from around the world to discuss and explore the phenomenon of insurgency movements that are utilizing the concept of jihad to guide and justify their actions and objectives.  Select papers from the conference, along with other contributions make up this special issue to provide insights and understandings of the wide range of Islamic-inspired Jihadist insurgent movements in the world, as well as investigated the methods employed by these organisations.
