“Abu Dhabi to host Gender Balance Summit on Peace & Security December 18″
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, TRENDS in partnership with WIIS and the UN Women’s Assembly are hosting a Global Women’s Summit titled “Gender Dimensions of International Peace and Security: Keys to Peace and Prosperity” in Abu Dhabi on December 18.
The conference will address the issue of gender balance and its role in achieving peace and security, the well-being of societies and activating the capabilities of women leaders to contribute to the sustainability of peace and security in the social environment.
Dr. Ahmed Al Hamli, President of TRENDS Research & Advisory, Center, said that gender-sensitive approaches contribute significantly to facilitating economic recovery, supporting community building, making peace processes more effective and improving the quality of humanitarian assistance, in a major effort to eradicate the roots of extremism and violence.
